Tanaka-san has built the knife in 3 layers with Shirogami #2 at the core, surrounded by soft iron.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eTadataka-san's work here is truly world-class. It is incredibly beautifully ground. It comes thick out of the tang and tapers evenly towards the tip. It becomes incredibly thin behind the edge, giving the knife an excellent cutting ability. Fit \u0026 Finish is also top-notch.
