Konosuke

Konosuke in Sakai: knives of the absolute top class. The family-owned forge is run today by Kosuke Kawamura, great-grandson of the original founder. It is a relatively small company with a correspondingly small production, but thanks to its outstanding craftsmanship Konosuke has still achieved a very special status worldwide, which means the most popular models are almost always sold out.

What Konosuke knives have in common is that each one cuts fantastically in its own way, and that particular care has gone into the finish. If you look at the knives in Konosuke's GS+ series, you will notice that the handle is made from a single piece of wood. No other forge does this, because it is actually quite difficult. Konosuke knives are often very light, and combined with the clean design the result is a particularly fine knife unlike anything we have seen.
