Description & specifications
The Arashiyama Whetstone 6000 from Foodgear Shop is a fine polishing whetstone designed to give your knives a sharp, smooth and reflective edge. A 6000 grit is ideal for removing microscopic irregularities after coarser sharpening and gives a finish that improves cutting performance and precision. The stone is well suited to maintaining both Japanese and Western knives, refining the edge and creating a pleasant cutting feel. Use it regularly as the final step after coarser grits to maintain optimal performance and keep your razor-sharp edges lasting longer.
Features and benefits- Grit: 6000
Wet the whetstone with water before use to achieve even sharpening and avoid overheating the edge. Use the stone as the final step after a coarser grit (e.g. 1000-3000) to polish the edge. After use, rinse the stone thoroughly under running water to remove sharpening residue, and let it air-dry completely before storing it. Store the stone in a dry, frost-free place to avoid cracks or damage.
Maintenance & use
Never cut into bones or frozen items as this may damage the egg. Always wash the knife by hand and dry it thoroughly immediately.
Please note that both the blade and handle can be seriously damaged and broken if the knife is washed in a dishwasher – this also applies to stainless steel and wooden handles.
