Description & specifications

The Shojiro Hasami 260 mm Tailoring Shears are professional, hand-forged scissors designed for precise cutting of fabric and tailoring. With a total length of approximately 260 mm and long, well-balanced blades (approx. 125 mm from the rivet), they provide long, smooth cuts and comfort during extended work periods—ideal for tailors, fashion workers, and dedicated hobby sewers. The blades are hand-finished and forged from Shirogami (white paper) high-carbon steel for a sharp edge and good edge retention; as high-carbon steel, it requires proper drying and light oil when storing to prevent rust. The model is often listed as No.304, making it recognizable for service or sharpening.

Features and Benefits

Maintenance and Use

As the blades are high-carbon steel, the scissors should be thoroughly dried after use and stored lightly oiled to prevent rust. Avoid cutting thread or other hard, non-fabric materials, as this increases wear and can damage the edge. If necessary, seek professional sharpening or adjustment due to the model's hand-forged construction.

Maintenance & use

Never cut into bones or frozen items as this may damage the egg. Always wash the knife by hand and dry it thoroughly immediately.

Please note that both the blade and handle can be seriously damaged and broken if the knife is washed in a dishwasher – this also applies to stainless steel and wooden handles.
