Description & specifications
We are proud to present Foodgear's very own knife series. In collaboration with a knife manufacturer from Koichi, Japan, which has over 100 years of experience in the field, we have had these knives made.
We have had 3 series made with them, each engraved with 'フードギア' which is 'Foodgear' in kanji. The kanji is hand-hammered into each individual knife.
This knife is a 180mm bunka made of 3 layers. It has Gin3 (Ginsan) in the core and is surrounded by 2 stainless steel outer layers. This means that the knife is more or less stainless and requires minimal care regarding rust.

Foodgear always advises against cutting any form of bones and frozen goods. Knives should not be washed in the dishwasher, as this removes sharpness and provokes rust attacks - even in stainless alloys!
Maintenance & use
Never cut into bones or frozen items as this may damage the egg. Always wash the knife by hand and dry it thoroughly immediately.
Please note that both the blade and handle can be seriously damaged and broken if the knife is washed in a dishwasher – this also applies to stainless steel and wooden handles.
