Description & specifications

Masamoto Sohonten is an incredibly highly respected brand, with over 150 years of experience. Minosuke Matsuzawa - the 1st generation blacksmith under Masamoto, went to Osaka at the age of 17 to serve as an apprentice. 5 generations later, it is clear that Matsuzawa-san's vision has been carried on, and it can be safely said that Masamoto Sohonten has achieved legendary status in Japanese knives.

The KS Series is the one they are probably most known for. Fantastic grind that makes the knives extremely thin behind the edge, giving them exceptional cutting ability, and the fit & finish is excellent.

The knives are made from a single layer of Shirogami (White Steel) 2, so they take a really sharp edge that can become very biting.

This knife is a 210 mm Gyuto, suitable for all-around use for meat, fish, vegetables & fruit.

The knife comes with a saya.
